Much before dawn, the ground becomes lively with the buzzing of men and women who have come with their wares to display for sale. With the rising of the sun, the ground looks decorated with the wares displayed on the makeshift stalls. From very early morning people start visiting the market. It’s really amazing to see such varied items available in the market. What not the market has to offer to its customers. The stalls selling vegetables, fruits, fish, meat, poultry, and dairy products are available as obvious.

Apart from these the market also offers varied items. There are stalls selling fabrics and dress materials, and even readymade garments and sarees. It is a real wonder to see how lovely sarees, readymade garments, and dress materials are displayed in the stalls. Next to the stalls of readymade garments and dress materials are the stalls of beauty products, fashion accessories, and artificial ornaments. The ornaments have such beautiful, intricate designs on them that one can not pass by without stopping to buy a few.

Moving past these fashion stalls one will now come to the section selling food. The aroma of fine gourmets will drag you to the place from far. The round warm ‘kachauris’ and warm ‘jalebis’ dipped in sugar syrup will drive one crazy for a bite. There are also stalls of other delicacies like ‘chaat’, ‘dahi vada’, ice cream, tea, and whatnot. A corner of the market looks colorful with various seats of plants. There are flowering plants, plants bearing fruits and vegetables, ornamental plants, and even bonsai. Whenever I visit the market I spend some considerable hours in this corner of the market.

SHORT PARAGRAPH ON INDIA – THE SOUNDS HEARD IN THE MORNING

With the arrival of the morning or the breaking of the day starts a fresh beginning. The morning is a very peaceful and quiet time when people leave their bed and gradually and stealthily begin with their day’s work. It is such a time when people are hardly in a mood to talk much. But this does not mean that this part of the day is without any sound.

SHORT PARAGRAPH

Although the morning signifies a soft, serene, and quiet atmosphere, it has its own sounds. The very first sound that wakes us up in the morning and marks the beginning of a fresh day is the chirping of birds. The birds wake up with the breaking of dawn and fill the air with their chirping. The cocks crow to announce a new day and urge us to wake up and get set for our day’s work.

With the waking up of people start coming various other sounds. From different houses, we hear sounds of the opening of doors and windows, the pouring of water from buckets of water falling into a bucket from the tap, clinking of metal buckets and other utensils, and such other sounds.

The tinkling of bells and chanting of ‘mantras’ also fill the air. In some areas sound of ‘azaan’ or the call for the morning prayer also comes from the mosques. Gradually the city comes to life, and new sounds keep on adding to the list. We now hear the sound of sweeping. The sweepers set in for this daily job of cleaning the city of her previous day’s dirt and giving her a fresh and new look. The sound of their broom tells us that the people of the city are ready for a new day. And then clinking their cycle bells come the newspaperman and the milkman.

The honking of cars announces the arrival of carpools for the school-going children. Those staying near the main roads can even hear the sounds of moving buses. In this way with various sounds begins the morning in a city. Gradually the sounds increase and the city march forward towards a busy day full of hustle and bustle, much contrary to the soft serene sounds of the morning.

DESCRIBE THE VIEW SEEN FROM YOUR BEDROOM WINDOW.

SHORT PARAGRAPH ON INDIA – VIEW SEEN FROM MY BEDROOM WINDOW

I was roaming in a dark dense forest aimlessly for quite a long time. My throat was completely dry. I was very scared. More than wild animals it was the darkness and the uncanniness of the dark that left my limbs slack. Suddenly it seemed to me that I could hear if not very incorrect chirping of birds coming from a faraway direction.

I tried to follow the melody and move towards it. Gradually the chirping increased and I felt I was nearing it. I could also see streaks of sunrays and actually felt its warmth. Gradually the chirping, as well as the light and warmth, increased, and then I opened my eyes.

It was already morning and I was lying in my cozy bed. I felt relieved thinking it was nothing but a bad dream. The birds were chirping from the mango tree beside my window. I slowly walked up to my bedroom window. This is a very favorite place of mine. I spend hours standing at the window looking out. Each time the scene outside varies from my previous view while the surrounding setup remains the same without any change.

The same old teashop, the small stationery shop, and the corner which is divided between uncle Mohun selling newspapers and magazines and uncle Shibu sitting with his crates filled with packed milk and other dairy products. It is a favorite part of the majority of the male inhabitants of our area. They gather here and collect energy for the rest of their hard-working day. In the late afternoon boys gather up to play football or cricket and in the evening the corner becomes lively with the carom board placed on a table.

The afternoon also becomes enjoyable for the ladies of the house. It is this time that they are free from their daily household chores and come in the verandas or windows to have a chat with each other.

During any celebration also I enjoy seeing what is going on the road from my window. I can even call the ice-cream seller or watch a function without bothering myself to step out of my house. I watch the rain and enjoy it without wetting myself. So it is indeed a very enjoyable place for me.
