He was not the first, and he would not be the last, but the magnificent man, watched from Gujrat. He is certainly the most famous of the most peaceful political opponents in the world. Mohandas Gandhi who is also known as Mahatma – led the Indian liberation movement in the 1930s and 40s. He did so by speaking well and without holding a big staff. He denigrated the British colonies with his inflammatory speeches and non-violent protests. More than anything else, historians say, Gandhi proved that one man has the power to subjugate the state. And this can be done by using moral and ethical principles.
